WebAbstract. Fischer–Tropsch (FT) synthesis is a heterogeneous catalytic process that converts biomass-derived syngas (mixture of CO and H 2) to synthetic liquid fuels and valuable chemicals. FT synthesis has received renewed interest in recent years due to the necessity to decrease global dependency on fossil fuels. WebIn this paper the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process from biomass applied at the Güssing plant was investigated. Each stage of the installation: biomass gasification, gas cleaning and Fischer-Tropsch process, in terms of the equipment used and the parameters necessary for the synthesis, was analysed and discussed.
